Mercury M-2 Frontier - Wireless Tattoo Machine
Mercury Frontier is a special-edition machine built for special work. Its fixed 5.1 mm stroke and power range of up to 15 V are intended exclusively for experienced professional artists with precise hand control.
Frontier is designed for bold linework, delivering a direct, forceful response with a feel closer to a coil machine. It is also a compelling option for scalp micropigmentation, where experienced hands can take advantage of its speed, hit and control.
Why Frontier
Frontier takes the Mercury M-2 platform into a more extreme working range. Its single 5.1 mm stroke delivers a long, decisive hit, while its electronics reach up to 15 V—3 V more than conventional 12 V tattoo batteries and access to 25% more speed.
This extra range is not designed to make the machine easier. It is designed to give highly experienced artists more headroom for demanding techniques. Frontier rewards precise regulation of voltage, hand speed and needle depth.
Built on the Mercury M-2 platform
At its core is the Faulhaber 4.5 W brushed motor, paired with a custom heatsink that maximizes efficiency and supports long sessions without a drop in performance.
The direct-drive system uses a 100% straight drive rod for immediate feedback and control. Its tip-weighted balance creates a stable, pendulum-like feel, helping the artist guide powerful strokes with precision.
Frontier also features an advanced click-adjustable grip. Its defined adjustment clicks make needle protrusion precise, controlled and easy to reproduce throughout the session.
Mercury Frontier remains compatible with the ROVER R-1 platform, magnetic batteries by Critical/Bishop and the optional RCA cap adapter for corded operation. Reaching the full 15 V range requires a compatible power source.
